KAYLA VICKERS
Director in the Business Operations Division at Brooke Army Medical Center, United States Army
Why an MBA?
“As a 12-year Army healthcare professional seeking to move into the executive suite, I knew that I had to develop the executive skills required to manage complex hospital operations and strategic planning both stateside and abroad. Returning to school full-time was not only about the classroom setting and the grades achieved, but applying the concepts learned through hands-on research and capstone projects to real-world problems. Terry has provided experiential learning that has prepared me to excel in any situation or job title I may find myself through understanding business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement impactful solutions.”

ANIA GARDNER
MBA Candidate - 2022
Brief Career History
“Over the past nine years, I have served in numerous pilot and leadership positions to include pilot in command, company commander, program/course manager, assistant operations manager, and government flight representative. Additionally, I deployed twice to Afghanistan and served a one-year tour in South Korea.”
Why an MBA?
“An MBA will enable me to reinforce my leadership proficiency with a solid educational foundation. It also exposes me to multiple business theories/disciplines, identifies ways to meet and exceed organizational bottom line, and better facilitates operational, program, and team successes.”
Why UGA?“I chose Terry because of its huge alumni network, small class size, and because UGA participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program supporting Veterans and their educational goals.”

ALLAN WILTSHIRE
MBA Candidate - 2022
Brief Career History
“After commissioning from undergrad, I spent nine years in the U.S. Marine Corps, first as an Infantry Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer, and then as a Special Operations Officer with U.S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command. I deployed to conflict zones in Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon.”
Why an MBA?
“As a history major in undergrad, I had the skills to communicate a researched, thoughtful perspective to a broad audience. During my time in the military, I had the opportunity to refine those skills to impact senior-level decision-makers and stakeholders. The hard skills in analytics and strategy execution that an MBA provides will enhance my ability to add value to organizations in the civilian sector.”
Why UGA?
“I chose UGA because the Terry College of Business provides great student to instructor ratios that foster a personalized learning environment. Terry is also a fantastic place for Veterans and the college lives up to their reputation for valuing military service.”

Brief Career History
Army Aviation Officer 2012-2020
Bank of America, Global Operations Development Program 2022-Current.

I am now a technical consultant working on an implementation team for Cash Pro, a product that provides treasury services to businesses and organizations."
Why an MBA?
"I saw getting my MBA as an opportunity to combine the soft skills I gained in the Army with business skills and acumen from the MBA program. Taking two years to professionally and personally develop myself before entering the workforce."
Why UGA?
"UGA felt like a great cultural fit when I visited and toured the program. The smaller program and class sizes appealed to me, and Athens made for a great two year home."
