KATHE PRATT
District Manager - Aldi, Inc.
Why did you pursue an MBA?
“I made the decision to pursue my MBA because it was the best option to tie together my experiences in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer and combat veteran with my other life experiences such as teaching English in Korea and studying abroad in Cameroon, Africa. I was able to harness my passion for leading with the knowledge of an MBA and that has proven to be invaluable.”
Why did you choose our program?
“I choose the University of South Carolina and Darla Moore School of Business One-year MBA because I liked how diverse the group of students was. I was able to make lasting connections with those of various backgrounds and from many different countries. It was appealing to me that the classes offered overlapped with those of the International MBA program. The ability to study an array of business analytics related topics continues to pay off in my professional life today.”

Why did you pursue an MBA?
“I had already succeeded in my share of challenges with military service in the Army and as a civil servant for the government. I was looking for a way to take my experience, especially project management and transition it into a civilian career.”
Why did you choose our program?
“I liked that in a 10-month time period the program could help take the skills I’d learned in the service and better leverage them to private sector career. The UofSC MBA was the best choice for me and helped me get where I am today – moving from Fortune 500 boardrooms to a client’s international jobsites helping to solve client challenges.”

Why did you pursue an MBA?
“I was transitioning out of the Marine Corps where I had served as an officer for six years. I thought an MBA was the best way to make sure I had the background for the competitive business roles that interested me.”
Why did you choose our program?
“I was excited about the international nature of the program. The chance to live abroad and learn about business with an international context was important to me. Why did you pursue an MBA?
“I knew my years of experience in the military provided me with a good foundation to be successful in the private sector, however, I was also aware that for a truly seamless transition I would need to develop a robust set of hard and soft business skills. It was clear to me that getting an MBA was the best option to quickly obtain required skills in order to be competitive for the best job opportunities.”
Why did you choose our program?
“Serving in a variety of countries with very different cultures instilled in me a passion for learning how to successfully conduct business internationally.
