Why did you pursue an MBA after the military?
“When my military service commitment was coming to an end I wanted to be smart about going back to school. Serving as an officer in air combat operations was an opportunity to hone profound leadership skills. However, my training was hyper-specialized so not many hard skills translated. I decided on the JD/MBA dual degree to show that I could apply leadership principles with sound business logic and provide exceptional value to my next organization.”
Why did you choose OU’s MBA specifically?
“To me the University of Oklahoma is an ideal institution for those that are seeking a great education with a solid national reputation at a highly competitive price for value. I’ve found that recruiters increasingly demand hiring OU graduates because of their lower rates of perceived entitlement. The OU MBA equips you to strike a balance between consistent achievement and unwavering humility. If you want someone you can count on to lead teams and get the job done on time, without complaint – hire Sooner.”

Why did you pursue an MBA after the military?
“I saw the MBA as a necessary complement to my undergraduate degree in Political Science from the Naval Academy. While I valued my undergraduate studies, the additional business education opened opportunities for accelerated growth in my transition, leading to a role with The Boston Consulting Group.”
Why did you choose OU’s MBA program specifically?
“I wanted to settle in the Oklahoma City market, and OU offered the right balance of program recognition and value. I was able to participate in some incredible academic opportunities while using the G.I. Bill.”

Why did you pursue an MBA after the military?
“Earlier in my career I worked for a startup. Although our product was popular and selling a flawed business model stopped the company from being profitable. Watching that startup fail made me want to learn more about how to run a profitable business.”
Why did you choose OU’s MBA program specifically?
“I was deployed during the application process and even part of the first semester and the staff at OU went above and beyond to help me start classes instead of waiting a full year. The convenient OKC location was also a big factor.”

Why did you pursue an MBA after the military?“
I actually pursued my bachelor’s first at OU right after leaving the military. While serving, a coworker recruited me into the Air Force’s internal management engineering group where I conducted management advisory and other consulting studies for Air Force leadership. Most of my civilian counterparts all had MBAs. When I transitioned out of the military, I knew I wanted to continue a career in consulting but recognized I needed an MBA to remain competitive in the job market.”
Why did you choose OU’s MBA program specifically?
“When I chose to attend OU, I was looking for an in-state college that would give me the greatest opportunity to transition to private sector consulting. While obtaining my undergraduate degree from OU, I interacted with several military veteran professors who encouraged me to attend OU for my graduate degree. OU’s MBA program allowed me to gain the necessary educational credentials to complete my private sector transition.”
