Many military veterans have accelerated their transitions by attending the Notre Dame MBA. Click their photos to learn more about why they decided to pursue an MBA, how they chose Mendoza, and what they’re doing now!
Why an MBA? “When I was working with the Junior Military Officer placement organizations, I did not feel as though I had a sufficient business background to make such a critical decision. As a result, my wife and I decided to pursue our MBA͛s after we left active duty to make informed choices about the beginning of our new lives.”
Why Notre Dame? “I chose Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business because it provides the academic challenge I sought, while focusing on the sound ethical principles required of today’s corporate leaders. Moreover, Mendoza allows MBA candidates the opportunity to explore job opportunities around the globe.”

Why an MBA? “I was working with a couple of junior military officer recruiting firms, but a couple of mentors said ͚Hey, if you can get to a good MBA program, you should try for that instead of going directly from the military into business͛ and I took their advice.”
Why Notre Dame? What really excited me was the breadth of industries that alumni work in and students get exposure to in the classroom. Some MBA programs are known for being feeders for specific industries like banking, consulting, or tech, and I was attracted to the fact that Notre Dame was very well represented across all of them.

Why an MBA? “The military provided great leadership and operational experience; however, when it came to business savvy, I knew I was lacking. An MBA offered the opportunity to round myself out and become a better asset to my future company!”
Why Notre Dame? Mendoza offered a truly collaborative learning environment; I found that both my professors and peers were great resources in better understanding the business world. The ͞team-like͟atmosphere at Notre Dame reminded me of all the things I loved about my time in the Navy!

BIO: Major General Brady spent over 34 years in the Army serving in stations all over the world. He was in Berlin during the building of the wall and returned in 1989 when it was torn down. He served in the Dominican Republic during that conflict, in Korea as commander of the troops at the Joint Security area of the DMZ and for 2 years in Vietnam as a helicopter ambulance pilot. He has eight years’ service with America’s citizen soldiers, our Reserve Components, and is a former Chief of Army Public Affairs.
While in Vietnam he was awarded the Medal of Honor for a series of rescues during which he used 3 helicopters to rescue over 60 wounded. At the end of the day his aircraft had over 400 holes in them from enemy fire and mines. In two tours in Vietnam he flew over 2500 combat missions and rescued over 5000 wounded. After Vietnam, he completed an MBA at the University of Notre Dame and continued to have an exceptional military career until his retirement in 1993.
