    Service Helps Link Ex-Military MBAs

    For military veterans in business school, making the transition to the corporate world often means navigating the uncharted terrain of résumé writing and networking. While traditional M.B.A. students typically step into the job search with four to six years of private sector experience and a healthy network of peers and corporate mentors, veterans entering business school are often fresh out of military service, with little to no private sector experience. They often fill their résumés with military speak that can make it difficult for recruiters to figure out what they bring to the table. Click here to read the rest of the article.

    THE MBA VETERANS TEAM SUPPORTS P&G'S & MYVETWORK'S DIGITAL VETERANS DAY EVENT


    The MBA Veterans Network's Executive team traveled to Cincinnati after being invited by Procter & Gamble's military recruiting team to assist them with a unique Veteran's Day event. Dave & Chris joined representatives from P&G, Facebook, Yahoo, and other firms to assist with the launch of MyVetwork's Digital Veterans Day. MyVetwork is a non-profit organization that seeks to build a global community of veterans, active duty personnel, family, and friends. This NYC-based organization was founded by John Campbell, an MBA Veteran (US Marine Corps officer & Georgetown MBA), a former executive with Credit Suisse. Click here to read more about the event.

    BUSINESSWEEK COVERS 2009 MBA VETERANS CAREER CONFERENCE


    The MBA Veterans Network hosted the first national career conference for military veterans who are current full-time and part-time MBA students at the top-ranked MBA programs in the world. 143 veterans from 41 MBA programs registered for the event and enjoyed a day of personal and professional networking with both peers and corporate recruiters alike. Google was this year's lead sponsor and 14 other firms joined them in connecting with the best MBA candidates in the country.     MBA VETERANS TEAM STANDS WITH IL GOVERNOR AT VETS ED BILL SIGNING


    Dave Chonowski and Chris Petersen stand with Governor Pat Quinn at the signing of the Veterans Higher Education Bill. The Higher Education Veterans Service Act will require schools to create, publish and distribute a comprehensive guide of services available specifically to veterans at their institutions. The bill also requires schools with 1,000 or more full-time students to appoint a coordinator to act as a liaison between administrators and student veterans. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

    MBA VETERANS FOUNDERS AWARDED 2009 STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD IN TAIPEI, TAIWAN


    Dave Chonowski and Chris Petersen, the founders of the MBA Veterans Network, Inc. were awarded the 2009 Student Leadership Award by the Graduate Business Forum, an umbrella organization of 60 of the world's top MBA programs, at its annual conference in Taipei, Taiwan. They were recognized for their efforts to plan and execute the world's first MBA Veterans Career Conference, an event that joined over 60 MBA Veterans from ten of the country's premier MBA Programs with ten leading employers across a wide range of industries.
